IMODEV Privacy Policy

The Institut du monde et du développement pour la bonne gouvernance publique (IMODEV) is committed to respecting your privacy rights and protecting your personal information. The purpose of this privacy policy is to inform you of how IMODEV is committed to complying with applicable privacy legislation on the site accessible at www.imodev.org, as well as on all of its sub-domains. 

 

This privacy policy specifies how IMODEV processes within the meaning of 2) of Article 4 of the RGPD your personal data in accordance with the principles defined on the one hand, by Law No. 78-17 of January 6, 1978 relating to computers, files and freedoms (hereinafter Law on computers and freedoms) and on the other hand, by Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (hereinafter RGPD), and in particular the principles of lawfulness, fairness and transparency.

 

Within the meaning of Article 4(2) of the RGPD, processing of personal data means "any operation or set of operations which is performed upon personal data or sets of personal data, whether or not by automatic means, such as collection, collection, recording, organization, structuring, storage, adaptation or alteration, retrieval, consultation, use, disclosure by transmission, dissemination or otherwise making available, alignment or combination, restriction, erasure or destruction".

The Institut du monde et du développement pour la bonne gouvernance publique (IMODEV) (non-profit association registered with the RNA under the number W751200232 - headquarters: 49 rue Brancion, 75015 PARIS, France) (hereinafter referred to as "IMODEV", "we", "us" or "Controller") is responsible for the processing of users' and/or clients' personal data in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

 

The transmission of personal data under the conditions mentioned below is necessary for the proper performance of IMODEV's services to the user/customer and to enable us to comply with our legal obligations, except where we rely on consent as a legitimate basis for processing and/or our legitimate interest.

The personal data you provide to us must be correct and accurate, which includes, for example, providing us with your updated contact details (including email) to enable us to contact you whenever necessary for the purposes of the service you use and/or have subscribed to.

When you visit our website and/or use our services (as a "User"), or when you contact IMODEV in order to subscribe to one of our services (as a "Customer"), we process categories of personal data in the ways explained below.

We may process personal data that you provide to us, whether by e-mail, mail, telephone, posting on your Personal Area ("IMODEV extranet") or by any other means of communication, in particular when creating an account, subscribing to or using one of our services, for example when registering for one of our events.

We may also store information transmitted by social networking platforms, in particular on our Facebook or LinkedIn pages.

In particular, we may process data relating to:

● your identity, such as your full name, passport details, date and place of birth, contact details ;

● registration information for events that we organize on our own or in partnership;

● to information stored in your Personal Area ("extranet" of IMODEV) when you create or use your account, for example to log in to your personal area of the Open Journal System managed by IMODEV.

By default, we collect strictly technical information about visits to our website in order to ensure the quality of service delivery and to comply with our legal obligations. Users may also, if they wish, activate third-party "cookies" to use the services provided by third-party social networks (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook) and to measure the audience of our website with third-party providers (Ionos).

 

Your personal data is processed to respond to your requests for information and to enable us to provide you with the services you have subscribed to.

The purpose of processing your personal data is mainly to enable the management of the events you have registered for or the services you have subscribed to (e.g. newsletter).

Your data may also be processed to pursue our legitimate interest, for example, to ensure the security of our website and systems and to prevent and detect fraud, security incidents and other crimes.

Where we rely on a legitimate interest to process your personal information, we conduct an assessment to ensure that our interest in using your data is legitimate and that your privacy rights are not adversely affected by our legitimate interests ("balancing test"). The personal data processed in accordance with this privacy policy is intended for :

- persons working for IMODEV on a free or paid basis when the task entrusted to them requires the processing of your personal data;

- where applicable, to IMODEV's subcontractors when the task entrusted to them requires the processing of your personal data;

- where applicable, to IMODEV's partners when events are organized by IMODEV in partnership with these partners. In this case, only the personal data relating to the event organized in partnership are transmitted to these partners.

We keep your personal data for as long as necessary to achieve the purposes and carry out the activities described in this privacy policy, which is communicated to you, or as long as the applicable law permits and/or requires.

When your data is collected for the purpose of organizing, registering and promoting a conference, your data is kept for a period of three years.

Data is also kept for a period of three years when you have agreed to receive information about the organization of our upcoming events.

As a user of the website www.imodev.org and/or customer of IMODEV, you have the following rights with regard to your personal data:

i) right of access, right of rectification, right to erasure (right to be forgotten), right to portability of your personal data,

ii) right to object to processing, right to withdraw your consent, right to limit the processing of your personal data

iii) right not to be subject to a decision based exclusively on automated processing if such a decision produces legal effects or otherwise significantly affects you in a similar way

iv) the right to define your instructions on what to do with your personal data after your death.
